Media Visit

We hosted local and international media who visited the Programme to cover the programme’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the beginning of the ChAdOx1 nCoV -19 vaccine trial. The 2-day media visit provided a platform for the journalists to engage with our research teams who provided an overview to the Programme research structure and the various research studies mainly around the Covid-19 pandemic. On the second day, the journalists engaged with the ChAdOx1 nCoV -19 vaccine trials team, who took them through the layout of the vaccine trial and conducted interviews with the researchers. A live broadcast was conducted by NTV and other media stories produced and aired later in the evening and various feature stories followed within the week. The media houses represented were NTV, KTN, Citizen TV, Citizen Radio, The Star, People Daily, Radio Maisha, BBC Africa among others.
